Technical requirements
This internet application was designed for browsers of the latest generation, in particular:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (6.1 and higher)
- Firefox (1.3 and higher)
- Mozilla (1.1 and higher)
- Opera (7 and higher)
- Netscape (7.1 and higher)
Firefox and Internet Explorer provide the highest ease of operation.
We suggest users of Apple Macintosh Computers to use either the
Safari-browser provided with MacOS X or one of the certified browsers
like Firefox and Camino.
The screen resolution should be at least 800 x 600 pixels.
JavaScript / Pop-up blockers
Mountain-Surfer.com uses JavaScript to provide the best possible ease
of operation for the internet page which includes the functions of the light box,
the search engine, detail information, etc. If the JavaScript
(Active Scripting for Internet Explorer) is deactivated, only
a very restricted use of the program is possible.
JavaScript
is supported by all new browsers and does not represent a safety
risk (unlike Java-Applets) since the script language merely controls
the browser function. Due to its structure, it has no access
permission to any folders or other information on your computer.
Also, if you're using a pop-up blocker, please allow pop-up windows for this
site, otherwise your light box will not work.
Cookies
Since Mountain-Surfer.com usually serves several users at the same
time, it therefore needs information which light box belongs to
which user. So-called cookies are used to fulfill this function.
A number generated by chance (Session-ID) will be saved on your computer,
so that your light box can be identified throughout the entire session.
(Your session-ID of this session is by the way # 217422651.)
When your session ends, either through a change to another website,
or by closing the browser, your session-ID from Mountain-Surfer.com
is automatically deleted.
Note that if the cookies are deactivated,
it is not possible to save pictures in the light box. However,
single pictures can be ordered.
Full-text search (combined keyword search)
Apart from the categorised search (search menu), Mountain-Surfer.com
offers a full-text search including all information of a picture.
You can combine up to three keywords and link them with an AND/OR-function.
AND-combinations will find the results containing ALL (three) keywords.
The OR-function will search pictures with at least ONE of the keywords.

Q: How much does a picture cost?/ How do I pay for it?
A: Unfortunately we can’t offer you any fixed prices, since
they fluctuate according to what the pictures are used for and
how many are printed/circulated. Therefore, we get directly in
touch with you to negotiate the costs.

Q: I can’t find any suitable pictures. Are there more pictures available?
A: Please give us a call or write us an email to tell us what exactly you are
looking for. We will be pleased to help you.
Q: When I click on “quick search” nothing happens.
A: Please activate the JavaScript in your browser.
